A One Stop Report Shop: Unlocking Financial Bliss for Your Business with Xero

Need crucial business reports but not sure where to begin? Discover how to easily access six key financial reports in one spot with Xero’s Management Report.

I have a funny story about when I was first in business. With minimal previous business experience, I called my accountant and asked what reports I should be running for financial health. The unhelpful answer I got, “what would you like to know”?

Fast forward many moons into my self-employment adventure, and I now chuckle at how broad my initial question was. Looking back, I'm beyond thrilled I switched accountants—because tracking the right metrics is the secret sauce to business success! At first, diving into these metrics felt like decoding hieroglyphics, but lucky for us, Xero has leveled up big time since then, and made it easy to turn chaos into clarity.

Here's the fun part: pop into your accounting menu in Xero, navigate to 'Reports,' and make a beeline to the 'Financial Statements' section. Hit 'Management Report' and voilà—you're in the treasure trove of financial wisdom! Six dynamic reports await, offering a panoramic view of your business's critical financial data, all in one place.

Below is an example from the Demo Company in Xero on what the six reports are: Executive Summary, Cash Summary, Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Aged Receivables Summary and Aged Payables Summary.

Each report is then customisable depending on how many periods you want to compare with and creates an amazing tool to track business performance.

TIP: When customising your reports, remember to ‘save as’ in the bottom right hand corner for each report. This ensures your report always displays as per your preference.
