Shoot, whats my password? Boosting business efficiency and security - The Password Manager.
You've probably come across the meme of Kermit the Frog on the phone with a hacker saying they have Kermits passwords and response is : OMG what are they? It’s funny because it hits close to home for many of us. But it also prompts a serious question: How much is password and access inefficiency really costing you and your team?
Why Passwords Matter:
Imagine this: You're at a site and need access to a crucial project document online for an inspector that wasn’t printed and ready to go. Suddenly, you're stuck because you can’t remember the password for the cloud based storage. We've all been there. Misplaced passwords cost time and disrupt workflows. I am a personal user of Roboform which saves so much more than passwords (credit card info, passport details, licence details, notes that need safekeeping) however there is a host of options to choose from when deciding which is the best fit for you.
I have a roboform app on my desktop and phone and the plug in on chrome, which covers most of my bases. Very occasionally I have to copy and paste it across though its very straightforward to do.

My Tips for Implementation:
At first getting used to a new system can be challenging however everyone I have converted so far (all builders), once on board, can definitely see the efficiency benefits straight away.
Don’t stress when setting it up. If the process fails when saving passwords, though not ideal, you can always reset it.
Use the password generator to ensure maximum security AND use it to update any existing easy or common ones you have
Very occassionally Roboform won’t save a difficult generated password which means I have to redo the process again. My tip is to generate a new one using the generator in the app/extension which then (in Roboform anyway) saves a copy of the most recently generated password
Implement it to Key Managers across the team. This aligns everyone with the same process and ensures company security. Password Managers will often have a business portal to manage staff access and licences easily. Find the link to the Roboform one HERE.
